The drawing is reduced and filigree. It explores the space of desire and introspection. The call is clear, defined and unchanged. The central motive is to research the dialectics of male-female relationships. The portrait is placed in the center – this is the place from which the composition springs and into which it dives. The portrait hides the intention of playing with a figure: a body that is set up as a line or as a landscape. Still, the composition remains in the domain of a minimalist approach, with a strong contrast between the drawing line and the background connection, the occasional addition of decorative elements. The use of graphic elements clearly alludes to the game of the sexes, they are bound to them as they perform their seductive ritual.

The Hagia Sophia is а marvelous building that transcends time and still impacts Christianity’s history. Its importance came to light recently with the decision to convert it into a mosque.

This acrylic painting depicts the exterior of the Hagia Sophia (“Holy Wisdom”, Sancta Sophia, Ayasofya) with the sea walls of Constantinople. It seems that Justinian’s dream of the Eastern Roman Empire’s sea power was imprinted here. The ellipticity of the dome seems to be the origin and the crowning of the peculiar light of the Hagia Sophia.

Where does this ship sail?

I have always been attracted to the sea. The sound of the sea – the pulse of the sea, its continuous movement, high breathing.

Beauty and music lie in the depths; her irresistible dance draws with incalculable strength, a tireless spirit of freedom. In its innumerable moods, the sea whispers, singing, shrubs “the deepest note of the planet’s refrain”. If there is something magical on this planet then it is in the clear openness of the water. We could search for a heart that would be like the sea, always open and free, joyfully as the freedom of the soul.

Joy is the vital state of our soul. When we get rid of the border, it sings the anthem to life. A joyful clap that is heard up to the top of the sky and does not bring joy to the bottom of the ocean.

Joy always gives away the beauty of life by itself, the life of the way it is.

"Transforming the inspiration obtained from nature, I assemble my paintings by using colours and shapes and grouping them to form genuine associative landscapes. Theme cycles, as well as their names, account for the stream of consciousness and the development from nature to associative abstraction. Some materials that I use on my paintings have been taken straight from nature – sand, palm tree bark, crushed stone etc. They stand there in opposition to the white of the paste and the colours of the lines."
